Halloween Day 2014

Just wanted to share a little from our Halloween Day.
Filled with parades, missing being in the parade,  first time trick or treating around the neighborhood and great costumes. Oh and my blue doors that need to be repainted. :(

So the day started off with my daughter coming to my room saying mom should I get ready now for the parade. I said sure. Me: What time is it anyway.  daughter: Oh let me see mom. oh 10:10. Me: WHAT!!! oh no.
So the parade started at 10:00 we were supposed to meet her brownie troop at 9:30 to be in the parade. See Halloween is also Nevada Day and it's Nevada's 150 birthday. So well um we missed being in the parade. I guess going to bed for the last three days on the following day. 8 am, 7am and 5:30am (making costumes) finally caught up with me and I set my alarms wrong. Yes Alarms I set two alarms so i could make sure I woke up.  Oh well. she was totally fine with it, my daughter said, it's only a parade. I felt horrible. So anyway we got up and got dressed anyway and went off to the parade to support everyone. but somehow we still missed them entirely. We even had little halloween treat bags for everyone. At least she saw her first parade. (yes her first). She was so cute in her uniform though.

She wouldn't stay still to take her picture.

Cute house on a float.

Cute and quick treat bag made from DCWV's Eek a Boo stack, Stampin up stamp from their September Paper Pumpkin Box, some Trendy Twine and a little bag I got from Michaels.

So anyhow we got over it and headed home to get ready for Halloween night. That went much better got to relax a little. I brought home some lunch for everyone and we all watched Ghost Whisperer together. Then got ready for Halloween. Here are some highlights.
Here are the kids testing out their costumes just before it got dark.

Here is them actually ready to go wig and all.
(oh and the ugly blue door that needs to be repainted because the original paint we bought for them got bad and goopy So we had to paint them with what we had on hand. it's so getting painted again tomorrow the right color)

Surprisingly there were only two other Elsa's.
And yes I made with my own little hands that are nice and sore now, those two costumes.

Today we are off to Dia de Muertos at the Springs Preserve.
If you ever come to Vegas it's a nice place to check out.
More pics tomorrow. And maybe a peek at my crafty space all cleaned up.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween.
Anyone make their own costumes?

Please share.
